7 UNIMAID Students Die In Accident In Yobe

Seven student of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) lost their lives, yesterday, in an accident in Damaturu, Yobe State.
The students who were on their way to Gombe from Maiduguri, Borno State, due to the ongoing ASUU strike, when the accident occurred.
About 11 others were injured....

Unilorin Student Commits Suicide Over Failure Of Project

A student of the University of Ilorin in his mid-20s, name withheld, has reportedly committed suicide at the weekend over unmet academic expectation. Tribune Online gathered that the deceased, from the Faculty of Agriculture, had failed in his final year project the last session and was made to repeat the current one. It was also gathered that the deceased student decided to take his life because he could no longer achieve the Second Class Upper Division grade which he had expected to make in his final year result. The deceased was said to have died after he drank a pesticide called Sniper. An indication for reason behind the suicide was obtained in a note which the deceased left behind on a social media, indicating that he had been accused of ‘copy and paste,’ a reference to plagiarism in research works.
